More info

This exceptional new, dark, double eggplant-to-violet-purple is a paragon of great color depth and clarity. Folks stop to admire and comment on its impeccable plant habit and great beauty. The consistently double blooms are petaloid form - measuring up to nearly seven inches in diameter and their velvety texture and deep rich color hold remarkably well. It is a strong rebloomer in Florida and Kentucky, with three to four way branching and nearly thirty buds. We are thrilled to name this for our friend, Joan Jackson, whose relatively new garden is set like a jewel in suburban Richmond, Virginia. Very pod fertile and fine a parent. It is our first introduction from eight generations of breeding that began with the cross (Seedling x Purple Plum) X Fortune's Dearest, a line of toothy edged, purple doubles. 99% Double.
