Sev. 6.5" fl. 27" sc. M. 20 buds. I suppose it goes without saying that I would not have named this flower for my son if I did not think they were extraordinary. For years Gavin resisted my naming a flower for him, until he saw these large, strong, dramatic flowers. I like large flower size, and have worked heavily to bring the impact of size into eyed/edged daylilies. The result is Gavin Petit, tangerine to pumpkin orange flowers with a green throat and a huge black eye and matching black picotee edge. On rebloom, the black edge can be much wider than shown. The chevron eye bleeds out into the petal self. There is nothing subtle about these large, extravagantly ruffled, dramatic flowers; they are a "real screamer." in the garden, and my best parent for eyed and edged daylilies.
